Current projects
Research coordination network
NoCTURN (Non-Clinical Tomography Users Research Network)
The Non-Clinical Tomography Users Research Network (NoCTURN) leverages input from a broad community of tomography educators, researchers, and industry stakeholders to propose improvements to data handling that cut across scientific disciplines. Our primary goal is to develop practical recommendations that link today’s tomography data with tomorrow’s tomography discoveries.
Broad-scale digitization
open Vertebrate (oVert)
Facilitating the exploration of vertebrate diversity by digitizing natural history specimens and making the datasets freely available to download from MorphoSource. The oVert project is funded by the National Science Foundation.
Evolution
Frog brains & endocasts
Using CT scans and diceCT scans to investigate frog brain morphology, and how well cranial endocasts represent brain shape.
Methodology
diceCT method development
Method development and refinement for diffusible iodine-based contrast-enhanced CT, including diceCT for natural history collections, and diceCT for turtles.
Education
3D educational resources
Using CT data to create 3D models and multi-model scenes for educational pruposes.
